AnomalyCon trophy! Stage 1: nearly complete. I’ll spraypaint the hell out of all of this and then coat with vaseline or something so it doesn’t stick to the silicone mould I’ll make for it. But I have real casting silicone SO EXCITED. And proper resin. EVEN MORE EXCITE. Castin’ Craft SUCKS SO BAD AND I HAD TO MAKE 13 TROPHIES OUT OF IT LAST YEAR. I’ve got 1:1 stuff this year.

Lessons thus far:

- plywood is fucking DENSE. It creates nice sharp corners, but gawds be with you if you want to sand it.

- The sticky side of duct tape mates with squishy gel animals to create a horrid sticky gel animal. >_<

- Cancer glue (E6000) is the solution to all life’s problems.

The final Season of RadioSteam

For those of you who do not know, RadioSteam is a steampunk podcast that began airing just over two years ago. It is now in its final stages and we, the actors, have only one (possibly two) more recording sessions to attend.

Many of us are relieved that we won’t need to focus on RadioSteam any longer. Personally, I’d love to just record for one season for the fun of it. (No editing, no serious work, just for fun.) But alas, my idea was vetoed.

RadioSteam isn’t something I necessarily care about in and of itself, but I’m going to miss being able to access my fellow steampunkers weekly. I’m worried about communication problems, the lack of association, and quite frankly … I’ll really miss seeing everyone all the time.

As I mentioned earlier, many things are changing in my life. This is only one of several recent changes and I know that there are more to come. Due to the level of severity of this particular life change, I’ve decided to dedicate a poem to the Radio Show:

Pirates Parting Ways

We might be slightly crazy,
but we’ve had a lot of fun-
taking down the pirates
and stealing all their rum.

Although our trips are pointless,
we needn’t be upset-
because the Captain says so,
we are in her debt.

Despite our strongest weapons,
we wind up on the run-
chasing after treasures
and freezing in the sun.

Now our ship’s outgrown us
so this is goodbye-
although we’ll miss the time we’ve had,
I promised I won’t cry.

so it’s time, my precious friends,
for me to say goodbye-

Art must be capable of being sized down to 2.5x3.5 or 3x4 and still look good. Ideally art will have space to include badge names and numbers.
All submitted art becomes the property of AnomalyCon and may be used in future promotional materials.

Every person who reserves at least one room night at the special AnomalyCon rate will be entered in a drawing to win dinner for THREE (Two plus one of our special guests) for the Melting Pot—on us! Also, if you reserve your room before June 1st, you’ll also be entered to win a 2013 Convention Tshirt! (Must be present at the con to win).
Requirements: Must reserve a hotel room at the Double Tree at THIS LINK (or call and tell them you’re with AnomalyCon). Must also be an AnomalyCon registered attendee.

Due to popular demand and feedback from our many wonderful attendees, we have made the decision to change the name of AnomalyCon (which people have trouble spelling and pronouncing) to End of the World Con.
Effective immediately, we will be seeking a new logo for promotional purposes.
